On January 17, 2024, in the State Historical-Cultural and Literary-Memorial Museum-Reserve of Abai «Zhidebai-Borili» hosted the opening of the exhibition «Abilkhan Kasteevtin Abai alemi», dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the famous Kazakh painter, graphic artist, one of the founders of the Kazakh fine arts A. Kasteev. The exhibition presents the works of the artist collected in the fund of the Abai Museum.

Visitors to the exhibition saw the works of A.Kasteeva in the genre of portrait, landscape. The exhibition also featured photographs of an ethnographic expedition. to the Abais homeland organized in 1947, under the leadership of A. Zhirenshin. These historical photographs depict the participants of the expedition A.Zhirenshin, A.Kasteev, E.Tynyshbayev and A.Kakitayuly, who was a guide to the historical sites of Chingistau.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by members of the Union of Artists of Semey, employees of museums, libraries of our city and students of the Higher College «Kaynar» Semey. Residents and guests of the city will be able to visit the exhibition within two months.
