«DESCENDANT OF GREAT FIGURES, EXEMPLARY TEACHER»
On May 8, a literary evening and book presentation titled “Descendant of Great Figures, Exemplary Teacher” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Minash Arkhamkyzy – a descendant of Kunanbay, educator, and promoter of Abai’s heritage – was held at the Abai State Museum-Reserve «Zhidebai-Borili».
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the museum director Ulan Sagadiyev. During the evening, genealogist, educator, and writer M. Zhanbolatuly, Chairman of the Veterans Council of Abai Region M. Alin, as well as the teacher’s relatives and descendants shared their memories. Museum employee A. Kenzhekhanqyzy delivered a presentation titled “An Exemplary Teacher, Scholar, and Methodologist.”
As part of the program, Honored Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan Kairat Kabyshev performed Abai’s song “Segiz Ayak,” while traditional singer B. Tuktibayev from the Amre Kashaubayev Philharmonic performed Shakarim’s “Anadan Algash Tughanda.” Singer Bakyt Shagatayeva also performed the song “Bulbul.”
During the event, a collection of Minash Arkhamkyzy’s works was officially presented. The book, which includes memoirs and articles about her life and work, was published by Zhardem Publishing Company in Semey. A significant contribution to the publication of the book was made by her son Rymbek Nurgalyuly.
Representatives of the intellectual community of Abai Region and Semey city, relatives and descendants of the teacher, cultural workers, and students attended the literary evening.
