MINISTER OF CULTURE AND SPORTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN IN ABAI’S HOMELAND

 To mark the 125th anniversary of Mukhtar Auezov, the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev visited the departments of the State Museum-Reserve of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili” within the framework of a working visit to East Kazakhstan.

The Minister visited the memorial complexe Abai-Shakarim, Syrt-Kaskabulak, Kunanbai necropolis in Akshoky. He also got acquainted with the exposition of the Abai House-Museum in Zhidebai and solemnly opened a new exposition of the M. Auezov House-Museum in Borili.

“The sacred objects of East Kazakhstan are the historical and spiritual value of our people. No one disputes this. Our task is to respect and preserve this heritage, to make it accessible to all Kazakhstanis and foreign guests. In addition, we do not forget that our traditions, customs, culture and history are interesting to tourists, and we must support this trend. We must realize the existing potential and make this region a center of ethnographic and ecological tourism,” Dauren Abayev said.
