An exhibition dedicated to the national poet

On March 15, the State Museum-Reserve of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili” of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the exhibition “Zhuregine Abai sozin saktagan zhan” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the national poet Toleu Kobdykov, who continues the traditions of the poetic school of arts of Abai.

Toleu Kobdykov is an outstanding representative of Kazakh literature of the twentieth century, the poet himself is one of those who saw Abai and listened to him. His memorable story about A.Kunanbaіuly is one of the greatest contributions to Abai studies. The works written about four meetings with Abai are significant works reflecting the personality of the great poet.

The exhibition “Zhuregine Abai sozin saktagan zhan” featured photographs of T.Kobdykov with his family, poets and writers, as well as personal belongings of the poet, such as a dombra and a cane that he used.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by T.Kobdykov’s grandson Sh.Muratkyzy and great-grandson E.Tegisbekuly, who told about the poet’s legacy. Students of the M.Auezov Pedagogical College read a poetic excerpt from the poet’s poem “Saryarka” in different languages.
