The Kokbai Zhanataiuly Museum of one of the talented students, friend of Abai, poet, singer, composer Kokbai Zhanataiuly was built by a madrasah in 1901, and a mosque in 1908. The mosque-madrasah of K. Zhanataiuly was restored in 1997 and opened as an exhibition, in 2011, for the 150th anniversary of the poet, a major overhaul was carried out and opened as a department of the Abai Museum-Reserve.

This year, in honor of the 160th anniversary of the birth of akyn Kokbai, reconstruction, restoration was carried out, which opened for the third time on September 10.

The exposition of the museum acquaints with the facts related to the history of the mosque-madrasah, with the life and work of akyn Kokbai, his students and descendants, with yesterday’s and today’s outstanding people of this region.
