The anniversary of the writer began with the birthplace of Abai
Today, the Republican scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Kazakh classic writer, scientist Mukhtar Omarkhanuly Auezov was held at the University of Alikhan Bokeikhan in Semey.
The conference was held jointly with the State Historical-Cultural and Literary-Memorial Museum-Reserve of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili” and the University of Alikhan Bokeikhan under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The theme of the scientific and practical conference, which launched the 125th anniversary of the writer: “The classical heritage of Mukhtar Auezov in the context of world culture”, scientists from the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, and other regions of the country made presentations.
The guests of the event dedicated to the anniversary of the brilliant writer were congratulated by the Vice-Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Daueshov. Also Deputy Akim of East Kazakhstan region A.Mukhamedchinov, akim of Semey B. Bayakhmetov, director of the House-Museum M. O. Auezov, descendant of the writer Diar Kunaev, member of the Committee on Socio-Cultural development of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.Tazhmagambetova, Rector of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan E.Sydykov, Director of the M. O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art K. Matyzhanov, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize E. Garifolla, writer, scientist, Professor T. Zhurtbay and others.
At the upcoming meeting, a number of proposals were announced and the progress of work on the eve of the anniversary was discussed. The festive event will continue tomorrow at the writer’s homeland in Borili and Zhidebai.
