The anniversary events dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev have begun
A solemn event was held at the State Museum-Reserve “Zhidabai-Borili” to commemorate the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev. This year, in addition to the anniversary of the great thinker and poet, the Abai Museum, which is the main center for studying and popularizing his heritage, is also celebrating its 85th anniversary.
In honor of these significant dates, a festive event was held at the Abai Museum, opening a series of anniversary events. The exhibitions “Abai – a great figure of world thought” and “Abai in visual arts” from the museum’s collections were presented during the event.
The event featured speeches by Deputy Akim of the Abai region, Z.Sarsebaev, Director of the Abai Museum, U. Sagadiev, and Chairman of the Veterans Council of the Abai region, Murat Alin. They congratulated the attendees on Abai’s anniversary and expressed their best wishes.
As part of the event, cultural figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, performer of traditional songs Kairat Kabyshev, performed Abai’s song “Qarangi tunde tau qalghyp,” and singer of the Amre Kashaubaev State Philharmonic, Kairat Kamidoldin, presented the work “Segiz aiyak.”
The audience was presented with the musical tragedy “Zaza-Naza,” performed by artists of the Abai Musical and Dramatic Theater.
