In the State Museum-Reserve of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili” of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an event was held on the theme “Abai dep sokkan zhuregi”, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Abai’s scholar, literary critic, veteran of the museum sphere, knight of the Order of “Kurmet” Token Ibragimov.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Acting director of the museum Ulan Sagadiyev noted the great contribution of the writer, researcher of literature and art T.Ibragimov to the development of Kazakh culture and merits in the development of museum business not only in the region, but also in the republic.

In 1976-2010,  during the leadership of the Abai museum T. Ibragimov, new departments were opened-museum expositions in the Abai and Makanchy districts. The museum was reorganized from the Literary-Memorial Museum into the State Historical-Cultural and Literary-Memorial Museum-Reserve of Abai. The 150th anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly, the 100th anniversary of M.Auezov, and the 150th anniversary of Sh.Kudaiberdiuli were held on an international scale.

T.Ibragimov is the author of the books “Olen orisi”, “Tolkyn tolgau”, “Oymen onasha” and more than 200 scientific articles.

As part of the event, students of Shakarim University read excerpts from the works of T. Ibragimov.

Singers of the State Philharmonic named after Amre Kashaubayev K. Kamidoldin, Zh. Tazhiev, A. Bauyrzhanuly sang Abai’s songs at the  event. In addition, the guests of the museum were introduced to the exhibition, which tells about the life and work of T. Ibragimov.

The exhibition will be presented to the visitors of the museum within a month.
