“Zhidebai-Borili” in honor of the Great Day holiday – Nauryz.
A large-scale festive event “Abai shanyragyndagy az Nauryz” was organized in the state historical, cultural, literary and memorial museum-reserve of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili” in honor of the Great Day holiday – Nauryz.
During the event, the traditions and national values of the Kazakh people were widely promoted, as well as the content and significance of the Nauryz holiday were deeply revealed. As part of the event, a flower–laying ceremony was held at the monument to the great thinker Abai Kunanbayuly with the participation of akyns participating in the republican aitys “Zhaiyk kelip Yertiske kosylganda”. The akyns, led by Zhursin Yerman, also got acquainted with the museum exposition.
The festive program was aimed at strengthening the unity and harmony of the people. Representatives of various ethnocultural associations performed on the stage, and creative teams from Cossack, Russian, and Ukrainian cultural centers presented musical and dance performances. In addition, an exhibition of artisans was organized for visitors, as well as national games – togyzkumalak, assik ata, tug of war and arm wrestling.
Educational quizzes and entertainment programs for children were held for the guests. As part of the festive evening, aitys, the traditional art of improvisational poetry competition, continued, where young akyns competed in verbal skills.
The event was attended by representatives of the intelligentsia of the Abai region, the city of Semey, cultural workers, students and schoolchildren.
