Exhibition “Reverence to the shanyrak” opened
On October 24, at the “Zhidebai-Borili” State Museum-Reserve of the Abai Museum, under the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the opening of the exhibition “Reverence to the Shanyrak” took place. The exhibition featured the works of painter, teacher, and researcher Akylbek Kabyllbekov and painter-sculptor Konyr Abdildauly Mukhamedi.
The exhibition was inaugurated with a speech by the director of the Abai Museum-Reserve, U. Sagadiyev. Professor M. Myrzakhanov from the Department of Arts at Shakarim University, Head of the Department of Arts R. Berikbol, Chairman of the Artists’ Union of Semey City T. Zhubanyshev, and A. Silambaev, who came from Ayagoz specifically for the event, also delivered speeches. D. Tursyngazy, a student at the M. Tolebayev Music College, performed the songs “Kazagym-ai” and “Akboken.”
Akylbek Kabenuly donated his painting “Sh. Kudaiberduly” and Konyr Abdildauly donated his work “Dastur” (“Tradition”) to the museum’s collection.
The exhibition was attended by prominent figures of Semey, cultural workers, artists, craftsmen, and students. Residents of Semey and museum visitors will be able to view the exhibition for one month.
