The Charter of Karamola Written by Abai
In the State Museum-Reserve “Zhidebay-Borili,” a round table was organized on the topic “The Charter of Karamola Written by Abay” in honor of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, celebrated on August 30.
The purpose of the round table was to promote the regulations written and adopted by Abai Kunanbayev in 1885 at the Karamola congress with the participation of the biys from five volosts of Semipalatinsk region, and to exchange views on the historical significance of the legal norms adopted during the formation of Kazakh statehood.
The event was opened with an introductory speech by the museum director U. Sagadiev, and the deputy director for scientific work M. Kairambayeva delivered a report on the topic “The Charter of Karamola Written by Abai.”
The round table was attended by Candidate of Historical Sciences M. Karimov, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Professor M. Tuibayev, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor A. Rakhmetullin, who shared their opinions on the significance and role of the “Charter of Karamola” in resolving the contradictions present in Kazakh society.
Additionally, intellectuals such as Z. Tokayev, M. Alin, Sh. Kalyakparov, and others shared their thoughts on the role and importance of law in the path towards building civil society in our country.
The round table was attended by employees of the Abai Region Prosecutor’s Office, scholars from the Shakarim State University of Semey and the Alikhan Bokeikhan University, employees of the No. 20 institution of the Committee of the Penal System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of the intelligentsia and cultural institutions.
